Hi I’m Sharon.

Cake designer based in Barlborough, just off Junction 30 of the M1; covering Derbyshire, East Yorkshire and surrounding areas. From my home studio I create personalised, luxury cakes that become cherished memories of intimate weddings and milestone birthdays to treasured anniversaries, and all life’s special moments. I aim to deliver exceptional quality that surpasses expectations, bringing joy and delight to your celebrations.

I have worked as a nurse in the NHS for 40 years, and still do part-time, my love of cake design has grown from a hobby, to my initial cake business ‘Quarter2cake’ and now developed into a new chapter as ‘The Luxury Cake Studio’ in 2025.

For luxury cakes, I particularly enjoy using pastel, blended colours, with elegant flower decorations, made from sugar paste, and for 2025 I am learning to use wafer paper and rice paper for flowers and other abstract designs … so watch this space!

I also love using stencil designs which add style and decoration to either fondant or ganache finished cakes.

When I’m not in my cake studio I can be found pottering in my garden, out walking, eating or shopping with friends, or getting chance to catch up with my two boys and family!
